Roasted Carrots tossed in olive oil for 0.65 cents

This absolutely simple recipe is perfect for a side dish for lunch or dinner. And it doesn’t hardly take any time. Honestly, I could talk to you a lot about how good carrots are for you, but most people already know this. If you don’t: “Hey, they are good for you!”

Ok, we are all on the same page. Lets make some roasted carrots.

What you will need:

  • 250 grams of Carrots or around half a pound
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 15 grams of olive oil

How to make it:

Step 1: Wash and cut of roots of carrots.

Step 2: Cut carrots on a slanted bias. Consult picture below.


Step 3: Put carrots in mixing bowl with oil, salt, pepper, sugar and give them a good mixeroo.

Step 4: Lay the carrots out on a baking sheet and pop them in the oven for 12 minutes.

Step 5: Take them out, let them cool and put them in your favorite bowl or plate. You can really serve these guys on anything.

What it will cost:

  • Again, I’m not counting sugar, salt and pepper. Sue me.
  • I used about a half pound of a one pound bag of carrots that cost $1.00. Total cost for dish 0.50 cents.
  • I used a 25.5 ounce bottle of Olive oil at $7.94. I used 15 grams, which is about a half ounce. So I spent around 0.15 cents for this dish.

    Bringing it to a grand total of 0.65 cent carrots!
